Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate Hawaiian Airlines Purpose & Values by supporting and contributing to a thriving and positive team culture within the Hawaiian Airlines training department
  • Demonstrate ability to identify areas for training operation improvement and innovation
  • Support the Director of Airbus/Boing Training by identifying opportunities for training department standardization and uniform operation to include development and implementation of programs necessary for training department operation
  • Form positive and effective working relationships with key stakeholders including Hawaiian Airlines program managers and FAA Inspectors
  • Responsible for development and maintenance of all curricula and courseware for fleet specific training
  • Represent the Fleet in all cross-fleet training decisions and work efforts
  • Responsible for all fleet specific instructor and student courseware and materials used for instruction
  • Responsible for fleet specific distance learning content
  • Responsible for all data collection tools (gradesheets and rosters)
  • Responsible for fleet specific content contained within Training Program Manual and AQP Manual
  • Responsible for all fleet specific training standards policies
  • Represent the Fleet in all cross-fleet training standards policies, decisions, and work efforts
  • Support the Director of Airbus/Boeing efforts relating to oversight of Instructor/Evaluator Quality Assurance program
  • Responsible for development of fleet specific instructor/evaluator Qualification and Continuing Qualification training courseware
  • Analyze AQP data and engagement with line events to inform areas of emphasis for each year’s training program(s); to inform training effectiveness and overall approaches to improving flight crew performance
  • Create curriculum and compliance presentations
  • Collaborate with AQP Manager to ensure compliance
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years experience in Part 121 air carrier operations either as a pilot or in management or oversight of pilot training programs
  • Knowledge and experience regarding the regulatory requirements involved in maintaining FAA Approved Training Program Manual documentation
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective professional partnerships at all levels of a company and with companies, organizations, people outside of HA; credible; consistently presents self professionally (verbally, non-verbally, in writing, through behaviors, and dress and grooming)
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal relationship and customer-focus skills; works effectively in teams, work groups, task teams, and independently
  • Demonstrated competence with technology
  • Self-starter, organized, detail-oriented with excellent follow through skills
  • Creative, able to create a motivational environment for employees; proven ability to affect/create positive change
  • Able to travel to all HA locations; must be able to hold a valid HA driver’s license; able to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed
  • Must have received the COVID Vaccine by date of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Broad supervisory experience leading individual employees as well as proven effective, people-focused leadership skills
  • Degree from a four-year accredited college or university
  • Demonstrated competence in effective project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines and budget guidelines
  • Experience with training as an Instructor / Check Airman for a Part 121 carrier
  • Five years experience in Part 121 air carrier operations
